This painting shows the Al-Aqsa Mosque being torn apart by a six-pointed star as a symbol of the state of Israel. The tear oozed fresh blood. Meanwhile, in the surrounding area, there are many flags of Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey. However, there was something strange. All the flags are surrounded by barbed wire.

I use the Al-Aqsa Mosque as a symbol of the Palestinian Muslims. Meanwhile, I use the flags around it as a symbol of the Muslim country and its soldiers. They cannot move to help their brothers because they are imprisoned by barbed wire, namely the nation state system.

This painting was inspired by dozens of Al-Aqsa Mosque worshipers who were injured in the clashes on June 26 2016. This problem was triggered by the permission given by the Israeli government to Jewish settlers to enter the third holy mosque for Muslims, in the last ten days of Ramadan.

A Muslim would certainly be very sad to know about this incident. The Israeli authorities have repeatedly massacred and persecuted Palestinian Muslims. Even now the genocide is getting crazier. Thousands of lives have been lost. But not a single army from this large and numerous Muslim country could move, nor was it sent there to defend the Muslims in Palestine, let alone expel the Jewish Zionist invaders from the Muslim lands. Even though the country’s president and his soldiers are also Muslims.

Meanwhile, Israel’s allied countries immediately sent weapons and troops when Israel was attacked by Hamas. Even though Hamas is a mass organization in Palestine, not a state organization, America was afraid and sent an aircraft carrier to support the Israeli attack.

This is caused by Muslim countries implementing the nation state system. A country will not intervene, and will even turn a blind eye when another country is hurt, even though they are fellow Muslims. In fact, if these soldiers were deployed, Israel would lose, especially as Israeli soldiers are known to be cowardly.
