In Islamic history, hijrah means the movement of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions from the city of Mecca to Medina.

In particular, hijrah also means changing one’s life to become more Islamic. This is like what is conveyed by the hadith narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Hibban, “A hijrah person is one who abandons everything that Allah SWT has forbidden.”
